Edith Margaret Border, 88, of New Philadelphia, died Friday, July 13, 2007 in Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Archibald and Frances (McMillen) Rees, Edith was born March 6, 1919 at Canton, Ohio.Edith was a 1937 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and she was retired from Starlight Enterprises where she worked in the food service department. Prior to her employment with Starlight, Edith also worked for the former W.T. Grant Company at New Philadelphia, J.C. Penny at Dover and Joy Manufacturing at New Philadelphia.She was a member of Community of Christ Church at New Philadelphia as well as the Tuscarawas Chapter of A.A.R.P.Edith is survived by her loving husband, Edgar D. Border, whom she married March 5, 1943; a daughter, Janet (Charles) Cartwright of Coshocton, Ohio; two grandsons, Christopher and Craig Cartwright and one sister, Joan Voshall.Family and friends may call on Monday, July 16, 2007 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Edith’s life will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Elder Jim Watson officiating. Burial will follow in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Edith’s memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
