Edgar Reymond

Edgar Reymond, age 96, of Cape Coral, Florida and formerly of Brightwood, passed away peacefully on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 with his daughters by his side.

Edgar was born on Aug 22, 1916 in Barnhill, Ohio the son of Cora Etta (Nussdorfer) and Charles E. Reymond.

On February 25, 1939, Edgar married the former Silvia Strimbu and as a couple reared four children. They celebrated nearly 68 years of marriage prior to her passing on September 8, 2006.

He was a veteran of the United State Air Force, an avid golfer, boater and worldwide traveler.

An industrious individual, Edgar founded Reymond Products International of Brightwood. The company specializes in the manufacturing of extrusion machines and dies for the clay and brick industry. Upon his retirement, Edgar remained an active and sought after consultant for companies throughout the industry.

Those who met Edgar knew first hand of his outgoing and infectious personality. It was that same personality that allowed him to create a nick-name for individuals with whom he encountered on a frequent basis.

He is survived by three daughters, Silvia “Sas” Gasser of New Philadelphia, Etta Kohl of Cape Coral, Florida and Sidney Shaw (Ed) Hardman of North Ft. Myers, Florida.

Completing the family are 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Edgar was preceded in death by his son, David Reymond; five brothers; and one sister.

A memorial service celebrating Edgar’s life, will be led by his son-in-law, Ed Hardman, on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with the family greeting guests one hour prior to the service from 10-11 AM.

Immediately following the service, all are invited to share a meal and fellowship with the family in the Hospitality Room of the Dover Funeral Center.

A private inurnment will take place in Sharon Moravian Church Cemetery at Tuscarawas.
