Earl L Shroyer

Earl L. Shroyer, age 77, of Uhrichsville, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Beacon Pointe Rehabilitation Center.Born January 8, 1934, at New Cumberland, Ohio, he was the only child of the late Russell Frances and Isabelle Guthrie Shroyer. Upon his graduation from the former Midvale High School, Earl honorably served his country in the United States Airforce, before beginning his professional career of 37 years with Zimmer Patient Care. On August 9, 1962, Earl married his lifelong companion and friend, the former Marilyn D. McConnell. They shared a life of love and happiness until her death on May 17, 2010.Together, they enjoyed participating in activities as members of Roxford United Methodist Church which included working with the youth and taking numerous trips to Israel and Egypt. Earl is survived by his brother-in-law, Donald H. (Sandy) McConnell of Uhrichsville; his sisters-in-law, Bertha Baxter of Midvale and Penny (James) McKain of New Philadelphia; two nieces, Darla Ohler of New Philadelphia and Krystal Baxter of Uhrichsville; a nephew, Anthony McKain of Bowerston; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins complete the family.The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10, 2011, one hour prior to services from 10:00 Â? 11:00 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Pastor Ron Heasley will lead a service celebrating Earl’s life in the funeral home’s chapel on Monday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover where members of the New Philadelphia VFW will perform military honors.Following the committal, the family wishes to invite guests to join them for a meal and fellowship at Roxford United Methodist Church.Those unable to attend may send the family personal condolences by signing the online guest registry located on the funeral home’s website.The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Tuscarawas County Humane Society, 6895 Dover-Zoar Road, Dover, Ohio 44622
