Earl Barker

April 8, 1944 — January 12, 2013

Earl Barker, 68, of New Philadelphia, passed away in the Hospice House Saturday, January 12, 2013 following a year of declining health.
Born in Alliance on April 8, 1944, he was the only son of 8 children to the late William Solomon and Inis Marcella (Barker) Barker.
After completing his formal education, he worked as a mason throughout his professional career with both Weaver Construction of Hartville and Hall Construction of Alliance.
He will be deeply missed by his family including his wife, Sheryl E. (Beaty) Barker; his daughter, Tracey (Shawn) Sprowl of Port Washington; his son, Christopher Barker of New Philadelphia; his grandchildren, Dalton, Taylor, Clayton, Abigail, Emma, and Melody Sprowl and Landon Barker. Sisters, Jule (Butch) Herman, Billie(Dale) Kisner, Darlene Clark, Rosie Becka, Joann Kisner, Ruby Lipley, and Phyllis Hall; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins, complete Earl’s family.
Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Tuesday, January 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home’s chapel on Wednesday beginning at 10:30 a.m. with The Rev. Eric Miller officiating. Entombment will follow the service.
