E. Jane Laughlin

July 5, 1929 — May 31, 2004

E. Jane Laughlin, age 74, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 29, 2004, at home. Born at her family home in Bolivar July 5, 1929, she was the only child of Robert F. Huffman and Clara A. (Kratzsch) Huffman. She attended school in Bolivar, graduating with the class of 1947. On March 17, 1956, she married Duanne C. “Cy” Laughlin. Together, the couple spent most of their married life in New Philadelphia. Jane was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of New Philadelphia, and served her church as a ruling elder. Jane was an avid reader and accomplished knitter. She was a devoted wife and mother, and was always very faithful to her family. Jane was employed most of her life as a secretary, executive secretary, human resource person and industrial relations representative for the Canton Glove Company of Canton, O. She retired in 1991 with more than 30 years of service. In addition to her husband of forty-eight years, survivors include two sons: Steven Loy Laughlin of New Philadelphia; and Duanne Robert Laughlin and wife Cheryl of Dover; grandchildren Stacy Michelle Laughlin and companion Dwayne Bibey of Newnan, GA; Blair Elizabeth (Laughlin) Dillon and husband Daniel Dillion of Shreveport, LA; three step-grandchildren: Melissa Paris of Kentucky, Tawnya Paris and Victor Paris, both of New Philadelphia. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 5 Â? 8 PM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home, of New Philadelphia. The Revs. Michael Seely and Stuart Barr will officiate funeral services Friday morning at 10:30 in the Sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Following the committal service, members of the church will host a reception in the church fellowship hall. The Laughlin family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH, 44622, in gratitude for their exemplary care of their wife, mother and grandmother, Jane.
