Dwayne Furbay

Harry Dwayne Furbay, age 82, of Dover passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023, after a period of declining health.

Born on the family farm in Uhrichsville, on October 1, 1940, he was the son of the late Harry R. and Veda Opal (Edwards) Furbay.

Dwayne was a 1958 graduate of Uhrichsville High School.  He was a jack of all trades and owned several businesses throughout his lifetime and worked in many different jobs.  For 34 years, he worked at Greer Steel, where he retired in 2005.  He always had a “can do” attitude and was the first to try to complete a task around the house on his own.

He married the former Brenda Lengacher on November 17, 1962.  Together they enjoyed over 60 years of marriage.  Their greatest joy were their grandchildren.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Brenda; children, Christine (Jim) Giumenti of Dover, Debbie (Jim) Henderson of Hartville, and Brian Furbay of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Beth, Kimberly, Kyle, Ryan, Nick, and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Levi, Raelynn, Ariah, Chase, and Lillian; sister, Barbara (Norman) Thurman; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Beverly (Floyd) Cummings.

In keeping with Dwayne’s wishes there are no public services.  A private burial will happen at a later time.  The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with Dwayne’s care.
