Duane W. Wolf, 80, of Dover, died Monday, April 9, 2007 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.A son of the late William and Bertha (Lozer) Wolf, Duane was born April 24, 1926 at Wauseon, Ohio.He was a veteran of the United States Army in which he served overseas during World War II.Following his service to his country, he married the love of his life, the former Beatrice Bankey, on June 25, 1949 at Napoleon, Ohio. Together, Duane and Beatrice raised four children, Marjorie, Joseph, Penny and Patti.Duane went to work for GTE in 1947 as a lineman and after 40 years of service he retired as a senior field engineer.He was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover and a life member of the New Philadelphia American Legion. Duane, who was an avid hunter, enjoyed trap shooting, especially at the Zoar Gun Club where he was a member. He also enjoyed woodworking and his family holds dear to their hearts the many different items he created over the years.He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Wolf of the home, three daughters, Marjorie Fox of Hilliard, Ohio, Penny Wolf of Dover and Patti (William) Karl of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Tricia Hostetler, Tiffanie Kearns, Jennifer Conner, Becky Zurcher, Amy Wolf, Harold Thompson, Corey Wolf, Melissa Davidson and Ashley Davidson and many great-grandchildren.Duane was preceded in death by his parents and his son Joseph who died in 2002.Family and friends may call on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Duane’s life will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover with Rev. Larry Black officiating. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room of the Geib Funeral Center.Memorial contributions may be made in Duane’s honor to a charity of one’s choice.
