Doyle E. Harmon, age 85, of Highland, Arkansas, and formerly of the Stone Creek area, died Monday, May 19, 2008, in the Fulton County Hospital at Salem, Arkansas.Mr. Harmon was born on August 25, 1922, the son of the late Walter and Susie Arbogast Harmon. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having received a purple heart during his service in World War II. Doyle was the founder and operator of Harmondo’s Pizza in Highland, Arkansas, and worked there until retirement. He was a member of the Spring River Car Club and the Arkansas Antique Car Club at Jonesboro. He was a member of the Spring River Baptist Church at Hardy, Arkansas.He is survived by his wife, Mary Harmon of Highland, Arkansas; two sons, Richard (Bonnie) Harmon of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Thomas Harmon of Mansfield, Ohio; one sister, Josephine Harmon of Dover, Ohio; three grandchildren, Melanie Petrusson, Jessica Harmon, and Ryan Harmon; one great grandson, Nick Petrusson; five step children, Carol, Bob, Sharon, Jerry, and Teresa; ten step grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Harmon is preceded in death by his first wife, Grace (Reifenschneider) Harmon; and an infant daughter.The family will receive friends Friday, May 23, 2008, from 5 to 8 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where the Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead the Harmon funeral service Saturday, at 1 PM in the funeral home’s chapel.Burial will follow in Stone Creek Cemetery where military honors will be rendered by VFW Post #1445 of New Philadelphia. Following the committal service, family and friends will gather for a reception in the Geib Family Center, adjacent to the funeral home at New Philadelphia. Those unable to attend are invited to share memories and condolences with the family by visiting the funeral home’s website.
