Doug Stafford

Doyle Douglas Stafford, age 74, of Midvale, died peacefully Monday, January 30, 2023 in Mercy Select Care at Canton after a period of declining health.

Born April 21, 1948 in Dover, Ohio, he was the son of the late Doyle E. and Susan (Voshall) Stafford.

Doug was a 1966 graduate of Midvale High School.  He worked for Alsco Steel for over 30 years before his retirement.  He was a member of Tusky VFW Post 7943.  He also served as a Midvale Councilman for over 40 years.

He had many passions in his life including hunting, fishing and golfing.  Through the years he enjoyed trips to Hubbard Lake in Michigan and in the past few years to Port Clinton, Ohio.  Doug’s greatest joy was spending time with his family.  He was very active in going to all of his grandkids' activities through the years.

Doug will be deeply missed by his wife, Brenda (Robb) Stafford who he married on November 25, 1967; son, Scott Stafford of Midvale; daughter, Holly (Jamie) Page of New Philadelphia; grandchildren, Lacie Stafford, Cassidy Page and Brie Page; great-grandchildren, Carli and Caden Stoller; sister, Susan Allman; and uncle, Duffy Stafford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Sherry Rieger.

Visitation will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia from 5 to 7 p.m. and again one hour prior to the service on Friday.  A service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, February 3, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Sandra Hall officiating. Cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory.
