DOROTHY V. YAKLEY, 86, of Park Village in Dover and formerly of Sugarcreek, died Sunday evening, July 20, 2003 at Union Hospital, Dover, following a brief illness.She was born November 6, 1916 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. A homemaker, Mrs. Yakley was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek and its Women’s Guild and Quilters. Additionally, she was a member of the Garaway Senior Citizens.Her husband, Junior Yakley, preceded her in death on March 25, 1990.She is survived by daughter, Sally J. Wilson of Louisville, KY; son, Bob (Judy) Yakley of New Philadelphia; two grandchildren, James (Leann) Yakley of North Canton and Stephanie Yakley of New Philadelphia; and her good friend, Charles Gross of Dover and his family. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Yakley was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Talbott.Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM in the Smith-Geib Funeral Home, 254 N. Broadway, in Sugarcreek. Friends are invited to join the family in attending the funeral service on Thursday, July 24, 2003 at 11:00 AM at the First United Church of Christ in Sugarcreek. Rev. Welton Stein will officiate and burial alongside her husband Junior will follow at Union Hill Cemetery. Following the cemetery service a meal will be shared in the church’s fellowship hall.Contributions honoring Mrs. Yakley may be made to the Building Fund, First United Church of Christ, 526 W. Main St., Sugarcreek, OH 44681.
