Dorothy Mae Williamson, 92, of Walnut Creek died Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Walnut Hills Nursing Home following a period of declining health.
A daughter of the late Thorton and Augusta (Neilson) Moon, Dorothy was born December 5, 1922 at Akron, Ohio
Dorothy was retired from the Summit County Sherrif’s Department where she served as a deputy for more than 19 years. She was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police #139.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Albert (Sue) Williamson of White House, Texas and Mark (Tammy) Williamson of Hope Mills, North Carolina; her grandchildren, Scott (Gina) Williamson of Texas, Jennifer (Wayne) Smith of Akron and Roxanne Hyde of Uhrichsville; three great grandchildren Drako, Herschel and Maya; a sister, Joann of California and a brother, Bob of the Philippines.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Leroy Williamson and two sons, Terry and David Williamson
In keeping with Dorothy’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Inurnment will take place in Hillside Memorial Park at Akron at a later date.
