Dorothy M. Regula, New Philadelphia, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover. She was 91.One of five children born to the now late Charles F. and Katherine Ott Springer, Dorothy was born in Dover, OH on March 11, 1913.She graduated from Dover High School, and on September 19, 1934, married Marvin F. Regula, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage before his death in October of 1986. .Dorothy enjoyed being a wife and mother to their two children, and later cherished her role as grandmother to her one granddaughterShe was a life-long member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia, where she was an active member of the Women’s Guild, the Dorcas Circle, and the Renegades. She was a competitive bowler until she reached the age of 87, a member of the Union Hospital Auxillary, Twig #7, and a well-known seamstress and quilter.Dorothy will be missed by her daughter, Karen R. (Charles) Von Bergen of St Charles, MO; son, Paul M. (Florence) Regula of Sterling Hts., MI; granddaughter, Heather E. Rolli of Wildwood, MO; sisters, Thelma Springer of Dover and Anne McKeever of Liverpool, NY; brother-in-law, Edward Regula of Dover; one niece, Barbara Johnson of Liverpool, NY; and two nephews, James S. Baumberger of Huntington, WVa, and Fritz Trimmer of New Philadelphia.In addition to her parents and her husband, a brother, Robert Springer, and a sister, Ruth Baumberger, preceded her in death.A Celebration of Life will be conducted by Pastor Jeffrey R. Gerber on Memorial Day Monday, May 31, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia.
