Dorothy L. Young

Dorothy L. Young, age 80, of Dover, died Monday, July 5, 2004, at Union Hospital in Dover.Born April 26, 1924 in Martins Ferry, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Daniel L. and Eliza M. (Miller) Withers.Dorothy was a member of the First United Church of Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the Twinges for Hinges program at the YMCA. Dorothy was also an avid reader and card player.Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Becky (William) Richesson of New Philadelphia and Jo Ellen (Tim) Burris of Dover, five grandchildren; Amy (Brian) Burrell of Dover, Julie (Tim) Altier of Dover, Mark (Kim) Richesson of Havelock, NC, Michelle Burris of Dover and Joey Young of New Philadelphia, three great-grandchildren; Kyla Richesson of Havelock, NC, Abby Richesson of Havelock, NC and Samantha Burrell of Dover.In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Russell J. Young, whom she married on June 30, 1945. Also deceased are one son, Russell Gregory Young, one sister, Mary Elizabeth Withers and one brother, John E. Withers.Visitation will be held at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & on Wednesday, July 7, 2004 from 6:00 to 9:00PM. Services will be conducted by Pastor Ed Scaglione on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 10:30AM in the Chapel at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home.
