Dorothy L. Krieger

Dorothy Louise Krieger, 87, of New Philadelphia passed away June 30, 2017 in Hennis Care Centre at Dover following a period of declining health.

Born July 9, 1929 in Mineral City, she was the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Fiddler) Reidl.

After graduating from Mineral City High School in 1948, she married George J. Krieger, on February 24, 1951. They celebrated 66 years of marriage this past February.

Dorothy loved to care for her family and friends, whether it was preparing for a family Thanksgiving feast or cheering on her grandchildren at their events. She was a ray of sunshine that people gravitated towards.

In addition to her husband, George, of New Philadelphia; Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children, Pam (Jim) Miller of Magnolia, Patricia (Robert) Schaefer of Randolph, O., Paula (Mark) Goudy of Bolivar, Paul (Linda) Krieger of New Philadelphia, and Perry “Mouse” (Jeri) Krieger of Grand Island, NY; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her brothers, William Reidl and Lewis “Gene” Reidl; and her sister, Joanna Gamble.

Visitation will be held in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, July 6, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel Friday July 7, 2017 beginning at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Ridgecrest Memory Gardens at Dover.
