Dorothy June Bevan, 82, New Philadelphia, died Friday, October 31, 2003, following a lengthy illness. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in her home.Born September 6, 1921, in Elm Grove, WVa, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Wilma (Sligar) Stover. She attended Midvale High School.Dorothy was retired from Alsco Anaconda, Inc., formerly in Sugarcreek, and also worked many years at Sparta Ceramics in East Sparta.On March 17, l955, she married Clarence T. Bevan with whom she shared seventeen years of marriage before his death in June, l972. She enjoyed her role as wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and homemaker, and will be fondly remembered for her wonderful home-cooking. She attended Daystar Holiness Chapel in Dover.Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Ramona Henderson of Jamestown, CA; June Burkhart of Cleveland; three granddaughters, Corinne E. Jones of New Philadelphia, Dawn (Glenn) Barrett of Delhi, CA, and Barbara (Michael) Velluntini of Fresno, CA; eight great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Stover of Brightwood, Norman Stover of Goshen, and Robert Stover of Dover.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Charles Stover, sister, Helen Dolvin, four sisters-in-law, and a son-in-law.Services will be Monday, November 3, 2003, at 10 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Chapel with Rev. Norman Stover officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, November 2, from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 PM at Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will be at Ridgecrest Memory Garden in Dover. Friends and family are invited to a memorial lunch at Daystar Holiness Chapel in Dover following the committal.
