Dorothy “June” Hamilton, 80, of New Philadelphia, died on Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Union Hospital, Dover, following an extended illness.Born December 14, 1921, in Gnadenhutten, Ohio, was the daughter of the late Ralph & Katherine Gross Hamilton. June was a 1935 graduate of Gnadenhutten High School, a 1965 graduate of the Ohio Valley Watch Making Institute of Cincinnati. She was an avid sports fan, she set several records, and received many Athletic Awards in school. She was also a member of the First United Church of Christ in New Philadelphia, Dover Historical Society, and Senior Volunteer Program. June was employed at the former Belmont Stamping and Enameling in New Philadelphia, and then Reeves manufacturing in Dover.Surviving are one sister, Ruth (Keith) Jolliffe of Lake Leelanau Michigan; 1 niece; and 4 nephews.She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Pritchard and Edith Harrison.There will be no calling hours or services.
