Doris Stephon

Doris L. Stephon, 81, of Dover, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at her home.

A daughter of the late John and Unice (Miller) Brown, Doris was born October 8, 1936 at Stone Creek, Ohio.

Doris graduated from Stone Creek High School in 1954. She was a member of the First Christian Church at Dover and she worked as the salad bar attendant at Randall’s Family Restaurant for many years. She was an avid fan of Cleveland sports teams and she enjoyed gardening.

She is survived by her children, Richard Stephon and Kathy (John) Heid both of New Philadelphia and Sue (Shawn) Bower of Chillicothe, Ohio; her grandchildren, Joe (Julie) Stephon, Kristy (Jason) Froman and Jessica McCray all of New Philadelphia and Mindy (Kyle) Bianco and Stacey (fiancé, Matt) Bower both of Chillicothe, Ohio; her great-grandchildren, Chase, Kyle, Chelsa, Katelynn, Austin, Chantz, Allyson and Carter and a sister, Mildred Schwab of Newcomerstown.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Stephon; a grandson, Jim; a sister, Luella and a brother, Gerald.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. A funeral service celebrating Doris’ life will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the First Christian Church at Dover with Pastor Josh Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held in the fellowship hall in the First Christian Church at Dover.
