Doris Mizer, 80, of New Philadelphia passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in Hennis Care & Retirement Center at Dover.
A daughter of the late Francis and Sara (Nash) Hennen, Doris was born January 4, 1937 at Cadiz, Ohio.
Doris graduated from Cadiz High School in 1955. She loved to watch and root for the Cleveland Indians. She also enjoyed country music and spending time walking at the mall with her husband. Her biggest joy in life was her family; she loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her loving husband Ernie Mizer, whom she married June 15, 1963; two children, Debbie (Geoff) Warther and Mark Mizer; three grandchildren, Olivia Warther, Abby Warther and Kaci Mizer and three sisters, Mary Jean (Wayne) Adams, Nancy (Ron) Sproull and Ruth Ann (Lester) Nabb as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
The family will greet guests on Saturday January 14, 2017 from 10 to 12 noon in the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where Rev. Jim Humphrey will lead a service celebrating Doris’ life at 12 noon. Burial will follow in the Holmes Church Cemetery at New Philadelphia. Following services, all are invited to share in a meal and fellowship at the church.
