Doris Marteina Moughiman, age 74, of Sherrodsville went to be with the Lord, her beloved husband, Bill, and son, Joe, on Thursday evening, March 18, 2010 in Union Hospital. Born June 3, 1935, on a farm in the Newcomerstown area, Doris was one of thirteen children and the daughter of the late Charles and Elsie Moore Rothenstine. Doris attended Plainfield and Newcomerstown Schools and worked at LaFountain’s Store in New Philadelphia until her marriage of 49 years to the late William A. Moughiman on October 29, 1952. She was later a long time STNA employee of Valley Manor Nursing Home. Doris was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church in Sherrodsville. She enjoyed her pet dogs over the years, collecting dolls, and spending time with her family, grandchildren, and grand-dogs.Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her son, Joe, three brothers, Charles, Bob, and Ed, and two infant siblings.She is survived by a daughter, Debbie Peeper and her husband, Randy, of Newcomerstown and their children, Randy J. Peeper and Marteina Triplett both of Newcomerstown; one son, Bill Moughiman and his wife Becky of New Philadelphia, their children, Shane of Lakewood, Clay of Akron, and Lexi of Wooster. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Jessica Stucin of Uhrichsville, daughter of deceased son, Joe, her husband, Robert, and their three children. Doris is survived by three brothers, Harold, Raymond, and Kenny Rothenstine of Columbus, Coshocton and Toledo respectively, and four sisters, Beverly Peeper (Gene) of Port Washington, Ann Tufford (Jim) of Newcomerstown, Donna West (Gail) of Sherrodsville, and Mary Rothenstine of New Philadelphia and many nieces and nephews.In honoring Doris’ request, there will be no calling hours or services.
