Doris L. Loughborough, age 81, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully early Saturday afternoon, July 5, 2008, in Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.Born at New Philadelphia, December 6, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Gertrude Horton Wages. A graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Doris completed nurses training in 1969. For most of her life, Doris worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and over the years, she was affiliated with New Dawn Health Care Center, at Dover, Aultman Hospital at Canton, and with Columbia View Nursing Home, in the State of Washington. She leaves behind a family that includes three daughters; Deborah Carnes of New Philadelphia, Jennifer Saunders of Naples Florida, and her husband, the Rev. Glenn Saunders of Ashley, Ohio, and Jacqueline and husband Robert Lightner of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Nine grandchildren; Jonathan Saunders of Ashley, Ohio, Joseph Saunders of Naples, Florida, James Barrett of New Philadelphia, Kathleen and husband Don Miller, of Iwacuna, Japan, Ursula Carnes of Magnolia, Joshua Carnes of East Sparta and Julie and husband Michael DeBois, Justin Weaver and Jordan Lightner, all of Dover, as well as 13 great-grandchildren, complete the family. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, David Loughborough in November, 1997. The couple wed February 2, 1977. A brother, Jack Wages, is also deceased. Cremation has taken place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory. Family and friends will gather for a graveside committal service Saturday morning, July 12, at 9AM in East Avenue Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband.
