Doris L. Bonnell, 80, of New Philadelphia died, Monday, April 30, 2007 in Country Club Retirement Campus at Dover.A daughter of the late Emmett and Isabelle (Gribble) Larkin, Doris was born February 22, 1927 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.A 1944 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, Doris was employed at the former W.T. Grant’s store at Dover. Following the closing of W.T. Grant’s, she became the Transportation Coordinator for the Tuscarawas County Senior Center.Doris was a member of the First United Methodist Church at New Philadelphia where she was active in Sunday school classes. She also served many dinners for the New Philadelphia Rotary Club that met in the church fellowship hall.She was a member of the Tuscarawas County Democratic Women. For many years, Doris served as a poll worker for the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections and for a majority of those years, she served as the presiding judge in her precinct.Doris enjoyed playing cards and attending numerous trips with her friends from the Senior Center. She also attended many Tuscarawas Philharmonic concerts and an occasional night out at the Carousel Dinner Theatre.She is survived by her children, Terry (Linda) Bonnell of Loveland, Ohio, Mark (Kim) Bonnell of Lynchburg, Virginia, Rusty (Grayce) Bonnell of New Philadelphia and Douglas (Carol) Bonnell of Wooster, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Tara, Todd, Dee and her fiancé, Kevin Owens, Shelly, Rusty, Joe, Kellee and Bryan Bonnell; one great-granddaughter, Calleigh Bonnell and an aunt, Marjorie Larkin.Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Bonnell who died on June 17, 1993; one daughter, Barbara Bonnell and one great-grandson, Christian Marino.Family and friends may call in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia on Thursday, May 3, 2007 from 5 to 8 p.m. In keeping with Doris’ wishes, cremation will take place and a private inurnment will be held in East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia with Dr. Rev.
