Doreen Gundy

Doreen Gundy, 80, of New Philadelphia, died Tuesday, May 28, 2002 at Morning View Care Center in New Philadelphia following an extended illness.Born in Walls End, England, she had attended New Philadelphia High School, was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia and was a member of New Philadelphia Chapter No. 222, Order of the Eastern Star. Doreen was a homemaker and had devoted her life to her family. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leo E. Gundy, who died February 13, 1987.Surviving are a daughter, Susie (Jim) Day; two sons, Ron (Nancy) Gundy and Len (Jan) Gundy; a sister Lilian Shepherd all of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Rindi Wilson, Mimi Gundy, Von Gundy and Jenny and Jackie Day and two great-grandchildren, Anna and John Leo Wilson. Her father, Michael Dodds, her mother, Susan Rivers Dodds Mennom and her stepfather, Joe Mennom and a granddaughter, Jessica Day, also precede her in death.Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2002 at 10:30 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. James Taggart officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 30, 2002 anytime after 2 PM with the family present from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
