Donna Jean Raber

Donna Jean Raber, age 80 of Strasburg, died peacefully, Saturday, January 27, 2024, in Hennis Care Center at Bolivar, following a period of declining health. 

A daughter of the late Clatta and Florence Beaber Lengler, Donna was born in Dover, Ohio on September 13, 1943. 

She was a 1961 graduate of Dover High School and soon after married Levi Raber. Together the couple have shared more than 50 years of marriage and raised three daughters. 

For more than 30 years, Donna was employed as the school secretary for the Strasburg-Franklin Schools. During that time, she touched countless lives, enjoyed many students and co-workers alike and annually looked forward to helping organize the “Golden Memories” Luncheon. 

Donna loved spending time with her family and enjoyed holiday gatherings. She also looked forward to visits with her grandchildren. Her hobbies included collecting various Fenton glassware pieces, Precious Moments figurines, Longaberger Baskets, and attending craft shows.  

In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by her daughters, Susan (Ron) Wilson of San Diego, California and Amanda (Alexander) Pierce of Dover; her grandchildren, Logan (Amber) Sherer, Francis Sherer, Tanner Wilson, Cole Wilson, Connor Pierce, and Charlotte Pierce as well as her nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her mother and father, Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Laurie Sherer; a brother, Edgar Lengler; and a sister, Beatrice Blickensderfer.

In keeping with Donna’s wishes, private services will be held. The Geib Funeral Center at Dover is handling cremation care.
