Donna McCarthy

Donna Marie McCarthy, age 36, of Dover, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 at her home following a sudden health complication.Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1973, she was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Sicker) Grant and Raymond Albert (Lorraine) McCracken.Donna completed her formal education at Plum Grove High School and was currently enrolled in The Kent State University Tuscarawas Campus, pursuing a degree in business.She had a passion for being a mother and wife to her family. Donna enjoyed cooking and baking, especially Christmas cookies. She also provided constant love and support to her daughters. Donna also recently began attending NewPointe Church in Dover.On March 8, 2002, she married her husband, Shawn Timothy McCarthy in Pennsylvania. Together, they raised two wonderful daughters, Alyson Cristene and Alexis Wrae McCarthy, both of the home. She will also be deeply missed by her brother, Timothy John (Jenine) McCracken of Pittsburgh, PA; her step-brothers, David (Elaine) Morgan, Ken (Angie) Morgan, and Kevin (Kristy) Morgan; her father and mother-in-law, Tim (Cris) McCarthy of New Philadelphia; her step-daughter, Markie Kate McCarthy of New Philadelphia; her niece and nephew, Alyssa and Anthony McCracken; and her step-father, Paul (Cheryl) Thomas of Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.Visitation will be held Thursday, April 15 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at the Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home, Inc. Turtle Creek/Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave at James Street, Turtle Creek. 412-823-9350. A service celebrating Donna’s life will begin immediately following visitation at 7 p.m. Cremation will take place and inurnment will be held at a later date in Good Shepherd Cemetery at Monroeville, PA.Memorial contributions may be directed in Donna’s memory to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th St., 8th Floor, New York, New York, 10022.
