Donna Cleveland

Donna Driver Cleveland died peacefully on Monday, October 19, 2020. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 19, 1930 and was the only child of the late Giles and Grace Driver.

Donna was raised in Westlake, Ohio in a family that bred Great Danes. Her love for dogs was immense and she loved to share the many happy memories of her mother being a judge at the various Cleveland area dog shows during the 30’s and 40’s. When she was 17 in 1947, she met the love of her life, Everett Walter Cleveland. They were married on September 9, 1950 and enjoyed a long and loving marriage until his death in December 2016. Together they began their General Contracting business in Westlake and remained in that business, both in Ohio and Florida until their retirement to Holmes County, Ohio in 2000. Donna was a smart and witty businesswoman and was proud of her accomplishments. She obtained her college degree at the age of 47 in Civil Engineering, was a proud member of Mensa and was only the second woman in the state of Florida to obtain her Certified General Contractor’s License in 1983. She was also a member of Millersburg United Methodist Church.

Donna is survived by her loving daughter Barbara (LeRoy) Vandeveer, grandchildren, Robert (Breanna), James and Leann Vandeveer and great-grandchildren, Alayna, Finn and Giselle. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Robert Giles Cleveland.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no calling hours. Private services will be held at a later date. Geib Funeral Service at Dover is handling arrangements.
