Donald V. Limbacher, 90, of Dover, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 19, 2024 in The Inn at Northwood Village at Dover, following a period of declining health.
Born in Baltic, Don was the son of the late John and Ann (Welling) Limbacher. Following his graduation from high school, Don enlisted into the United States Air Force and honorably served his country during the Korean War. Following his discharge from active duty, Don continued servicing his country as a member of the Ohio Air National Guard at Mansfield and eventually retired from the Air Force after 30 years of honorable service. Don also served as the Director of the Tuscarawas County Veterans Service Office for many years until his eventual retirement.
Don was a member of Broadway Global Methodist Church at New Philadelphia and also a longtime member of the Carl C. Stoller Post #1445 of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars at New Philadelphia, AMVETS and American Legion.
Surviving is his wife of 68 years, Betty J. (Gingery) Limbacher; two sons, Steve Limbacher of Dover and Randy (Carol) Limbacher of Houston, Texas; a sister-in-law that he helped his wife raise from childhood, Margaret “Maggie” (Jake) McDonald of Plain City; two grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his two brothers, Ron Limbacher and John Limbacher.
In keeping with his wishes, a private family service will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and entombment will be in the mausoleum at East Avenue Cemetery at New Philadelphia.
