Donald Lee Smith

Donald Lee Smith, age 75, of Tippecanoe, Ohio died Wednesday, September 29, 2010, in Twin City Hospital at Dennison following a period of declining health.A son of the late Carroll and Elsie Veverka Smith, Don was born at Berea Hospital at Berea on November 27, 1934. Don was a graduate of North Royalton High School and following graduation married the former Kay Cerny, whom he recently celebrated 56 years of marriage with on September 18. Together the couple reared two children.For nearly thirty years, Don was a delivery driver for Emery Air Freight. He enjoyed being outdoors and participating in activities which included hunting, fishing, muzzle loading, and trap-shooting. He also enjoyed hockey and football as well as caring for horses and dogs and many other wildlife animals.In addition to his wife, Kay, Don will be missed by his two children, Terry (Michael) Henderson of North Royalton, and Tab (Sharon) Smith of Parma; four grandchildren, Kaitlin and Randy Henderson, Thomas Smith and Christine Dougherty as well as two great-grandchildren, Connor and Brandt.In keeping with Don’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory at Dover.
