Donald L. Jones

Donald L. Jones, 55, of Dover, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 12, 2007 while at work.A son of the late John Jones and the late Elizabeth (Gross) Chatt, Don was born May 2, 1951 at Dennison, Ohio.Don was employed by Commercial Honing at Dover where he had worked as a machinist for the last 12 years. Prior to that, he was employed as a Production Foreman at Barmet Aluminum at Uhrichsville from 1970 to 1992. He was also a certified electrician in which he enjoyed doing in his spare time.He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed hunting and fishing and he also enjoyed racing motorcycles. Don enjoyed people and he cherished the time he was able to spend with his family and friends. He had a love for children and an ability to reach out to them in order to make them feel special.Don will be deeply missed by his wife, Lori (McDevitt) Jones, whom he married on September 29, 1992 at Virginia Beach, Virginia. Lori will remember Don as being the best husband a woman could ever ask for. He is also survived by four children, Tracey Allen-Lumpcik of Dennison, Brent Jones, Heath Jones and Jamie Jones all of Uhrichsville; a granddaughter, Kamerie Jones; sisters Pam (Rick) Satterfield and Diane (Art) Striker both of Dennison; an uncle, Reginald (Joyce) Gross and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother Ed Jones and a sister Radonda Jones.There will be no public visitation and a memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be led by Pastor Paul Worley on Friday, March 16, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover. Following the service, a memorial reception will be held in the Hospitality Room in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover.Memorial contributions may be made in Don’s honor to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622 and/or American Cancer Society, 201-A West Ohio Avenue, Dover, OH 44622.
