Donald H. Rogers Sr., 80, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016 in Aultman Hospital at Canton, Ohio following a sudden illness.
A son of the late Jacob and Edna (Dale) Rogers, Donald was born on September 29, 1935 at St. Francis, Kansas.
Donald was a veteran of the United States Army and retired as a truck driver from Yellow Freight in 1979.
He is survived by his son, Donald (Ursala) Rogers Jr. of Arlington, Texas; his daughter, Deborah Biechler of Dennison; three grandchildren, Christie Rogers, John Biechler and Jennifer Biechler and a brother, William Rogers of Denver, Colorado.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn Rogers who passed away on March 9, 2014; a grandson, Michel White; a sister, Vera Smith and two brothers, Paul and Charles Rogers.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Donald’s life will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
