Donald Fritz Korns

Donald “Fritz” Korns, 75, of Dover, died Friday, March 23, 2007, in Hennis Care Centre at Dover.A son of the late William and Lydia Davis Korns, Fritz was born on March 12, 1932 in New Philadelphia. Fritz was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. On June 29, 1958, Fritz married Barbara Ann Berndt in Dover. After 30 years of service, Fritz retired from Reeves Steel as a furnace operator. Fritz was a life member of the Dover V.F.W. and enjoyed watching sports including the Browns, Buckeyes, and Dover Tornadoes.In addition to his parents, Fritz was preceded in death by his wife Barbara; brothers, Harold Korns, Daniel Korns, Clarence “Max” Korns; sisters, Helen Yost, Katherine Dodge, and Ethel Jean Korns.He is survived by his son Kevin Korns of Dover; daughter, Karen Korns of Dover; brothers, Kenneth J. Korns of Dover, Simon (Valerie) Korns of Dover; sister, Shirley (Arlen) Hostetler of Sugarcreek; best friend and companion his dog Bo.Visitation will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover on Monday, March 26, 2007, from 5:00 -8:00 p.m.The Rev. Hugh B. Berry will lead the funeral service on Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at 12:00 noon with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens where military honors will be given by the Dover V.F.W. Post 3463.Immediately following the committal, a reception will be given for family and friends in the Geib Hospitality Room at Dover.
