Donald Eichel

Donald Lee Eichel, age 66 of Dover went home to rest with the Lord on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones.

Don loved to watch his grandkids play football and softball.  He was a loving and devoted husband for 43 years.  Don spent most of his life working in the oil field.  His favorite thing to do included hunting and being outside.  Don was a hoot for sure and anyone that knows him will attest to that.  He loved a good laugh. Don had a deep faith and enjoyed attending Faith Christian Church with his daughter and son-in-law.

He is survived by his wife Mary (Farnsworth) Eichel of Dover; daughters, Alicia (Darryl) Williams of New Philadelphia, Donicka (David) Smitley of Dover, and Amanda Eichel of New Philadelphia, grandchildren, Chandra (Alex) Fergurson of Dover, Taleigha Eichel of Weatherford, Texas, Oshea C. Williams of New Philadelphia, Madison Smitley of Dover, Jaelyn Eichel of New Philadelphia, and Jaxon “Bubba” Williams of New Philadelphia; his first great-grandchild that is to be born this summer; brothers, Robert Eichel of Stone Creek, and Chuck Eichel of New Philadelphia; and sister Barb Cannon of Strasburg.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Robert Eichel; mother, Dorothy “Boots” Eichel; grandmother, Julia Dugan; and his beautiful sister, Dorothy Gasser.

In keeping with Don’s wishes, cremation care has been entrusted to Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home and Crematory and no services are planned at this time.  Friends and family may send cards, flowers or donations in Don’s honor to 1304 Chestnut St. Dover, Ohio 44663.
