Donald E. Krebs, 53, of Dover, died Monday, February 3, 2003, at Union Hospital in Dover following a courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis.Born in Dover, he was the son of the late Forest V. Krebs and is survived by his mother, Dorothy I. Krebs Halter of Dover. A 1967 graduate of New Philadelphia High School, he was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Korea during the Viet Nam conflict and was owner and operator of the former Krebs Shell Service in New Philadelphia. He was a member of the First Church of the Brethren in New Philadelphia and loved sports, especially watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. Don collected di-cast cars and enjoyed N.H.R.A. Drag Races and had attended the Spring Nationals numerous times.In addition to his mother, he is also survived by his aunt, Betty Bear of Dover; two sisters, Sandy Fragasse and Mary Jo (Gary) Haught both of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Vic (Kathi) Krebs of New Philadelphia and John (Annette) Krebs of Pataskala; two step-sisters, Sue (Phil) Westhafer of New Philadelphia and Jay (Doug) Miller of Columbus; numerous nieces and nephews and his extended family, the staff and residents of Hennis Care Centre.Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 6, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with Rev. William J. Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park in New Philadelphia. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2003 from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Columbus Center, 970 Crupper Avenue, Columbus, Ohio, 43229-1109.
