Dominic J. “Mickey” France, 62, of Bolivar, died Tuesday August 9, 2005 at his residence. After having been given six months to live he enjoyed almost four more years of life prior to succombing to his illness.A son of Phillip J. and Betty M. Osborn France, Dominic was born January 6, 1943, in Akron, Ohio.He was a 1961 graduate of Kent Roosevelt High School, where he played football and baseball, and was retired as a Business Manager from the Chrysler Corp. in Twinsburg following 32 years of service. Mickey attended Holy Trinity Church in Bolivar, worked as a ranger at Oak Shadows Golf Course, was an avid golfer and was a member of the New Philadelphia Elks.He is survived by his mother; his wife Katherine Wilson France whom he married July 1, 1991; his daughter, Shelby L. (Ernie) McBroom Farkas, of Lower Salem; sons, Michael J. France and his fiancé, Darcy Trautman of Kent, and Christopher Y. France of Kent; sister, Mary Lynn (Tony) Karnowski of Kent, brother, John P. (Ginny) France of Anaheim, CA; granddaughters, Ellyn T. Mazzola and Audrey Lynn Farkas; grandsons, Michael C. France and Brody C. Farkas; stepchildren, Jody (David) Jeffers of Georgia and Jim (Mary) Seldenright of New Philadelphia; and step-grandchildren, Chelsea, Chloe, and Ben Jeffers, Derek Butcher, and Jimmy, Joey, Josh and Cassie Seldenright; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved greyhound Daisy.He was preceded in death by his father.Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia and Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Bissler & Sons Funeral Home in Kent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Kent.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Tuscarawas Co., 201 W.
