Dolores May Miller, 84, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, June 12, 2010 in New Dawn Retirement Community at Dover.A daughter of the late James and Bertha (Riddle) Bird, Dolores was born October 7, 1925 at New Philadelphia.On January 24, 1948, Dolores married the love of her life, Delbert Eugene Miller and together the couple raised five children, Marjie, Terry, Dean, Tom and Steve. The couple shared 59 years of marriage prior to Delbert’s passing on August 8, 2007.She was a member of Jerusalem Church as well as a member of the Stone Creek Garden Club.Dolores enjoyed traveling and along with her late husband she visited many places around the world. She also enjoyed bowling and would join her sisters every week at the bowling alley.She is survived by her children, Marjie (John) Adams of Helena, Montana, Terry Miller of West Lafayette, Dean (Sue) Miller of Navarre and Steve (Deb) Miller of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Amanda (Rob) Lewis of Belgrade, Montana, Chet (Amber) Carpenter of Helena, Montana, Matt (Paola) Miller of Florida, Scott Miller of Phoenix, Arizona, Lee (fiancée, Ginny) Miller of Dover, Shawn (Robin) Miller of New Philadelphia and Kurtis (Bridget) Adams of California; 15 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and five sisters, Libby Zurcher of New Philadelphia, Joanne Hogue of Newcomerstown, Barb Karl of Mineral City, Florence (Ed) Limbacher of New Philadelphia and Sandy Beans of Dennison.In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by a son, Tom Miller; three sisters, Maxine Burkey, Margaret Betz and Annabelle Tedrick and a brother, Jim Bird.The family will receive guests on Monday, June 14, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Dolores’ life will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Dr. Terry Downin officiating. Burial will follow in Jerusalem Church Cemetery. Following the committal service, a memorial reception will be held in the Geib Family Center at New Philadelphia.Contributions may be made in Dolores’ memory to Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 201 West Third Street, Dover, OH 44622.
