Dolores L. DeTorio Recla, age 90 of Park Village Assisted Living Center at Dover, died peacefully Monday, May 30, 2011, in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Norman L. and Bessie Dotts Groh, Dolores was born in York Township, Tuscarawas County, on November 18, 1920, and was a graduate of New Philadelphia High School.Dolores was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia and St. Catherine of Sienna Church at Florida, where she formerly resided. Additionally, she was employed by Zimmer Patient care at Dover for 23 years prior to her retirement.An avid reader, Dolores also enjoyed needle point, traveling, and spending time with her friends.Surviving are a niece, Nancy Miller of Tipp City, Ohio; two nephews, Anthony (Helen) Ross of Lancaster, Ohio and Steven (Josephine) DeTorio of Dover; a sister-in-law, Ellen DeTorio of Dover; a brother-in-law, Norm Recla of Michigan; a God-daughter, Pamela (Steven) Clum of Port Washington; and a long-time family friend Judy Brakeman of Strongsville.In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph J. DeTorio; her second husband, Guy B. Recla; twin sons, John DeTorio, who died at birth, and Mike DeTorio who died in 1987; and a brother, Marion Groh.The family will receive friends on Friday, June 3, 2011, from 9:00 Â? 9:45 AM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Father Jeff Coning will celebrate a mass of Christian Burial on Friday June 3, 2011, at 10:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at New Philadelphia. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Following services, the family wishes to invite guests to join them for a time of food and fellowship in St. Ambrose Hall, adjacent to Sacred Heart Church.Memorial contributions in Dolores’ name may be directed to Sacred Heart Church, 139 Third Street NE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
