Dolores E Allen

Dolores E. Allen, 84, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, September 01, 2010 in Union Hospital at Dover following a period of declining health.A daughter of the late Jess and Mary Snyder, Dolores was born August 4, 1926 at Germano, Ohio.Dolores was a 1944 graduate of Jewett High School and in the same year she married the love of her life, Harold W. “Bill” Allen.During their 66 years of marriage, Delores and Bill were nearly inseparable. She retired as a sales clerk from Walker’s Clothing Store at Canton where Bill also worked. The couple cherished their daily rides together to and from work. They also enjoyed traveling together, visiting many places throughout the United States and Canada.In addition to Bill, she is survived by two nephews and their wives, Paul and Christie Dunfee of Lakeside, Ohio and Timothy and Amie Dunfee of Cadiz, Ohio; a great nephew, Timmy (Adrienne) Dunfee of California; a sister-in-law, Virginia Duve of Cadiz, Ohio and special friends, Hallie and Bill Hawthorne of New Philadelphia and Marilynn Beall of Scio, Ohio.Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Leona Pissocra, Dorothy Prosser and Martha Young.In keeping with Dolores’ wishes there will be no public calling hours or services and cremation will take place through the care of Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
