Dixie M. Ousley

Dixie M. Ousley, 75 of Bolivar, passed away February 8, 2017 in Schoenbrunn Healthcare Center at New Philadelphia.

She was born November 15, 1941 in West Liberty, Kentucky, to the late Clyde and Lena (Adkins) Elliott.

On January 15, 1960 in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Dixie married her lifelong companion the late Claude Ousley who preceded her in passing on March 12, 2016.

Dixie will be deeply missed by her family including three sons, Claude Dale (Lisa) Ousley of Bolivar, Clyde Darryl (Diana) Ousley of Louisville, and Christopher Darren (Courtney) Ousley of New Philadelphia; two daughters, Janice (Allen) Christmas of New Philadelphia and Deborah (Ron) Christmas of Bolivar; siblings, Jerry (Rosa) Elliott of Findlay, Sue (Morris) Baker of Mt. Sterling, KY, Bonnie (Grady) Watkins and Eva J. Williams, both of Jerseyville, IL; her sister-in-law, Faye Gibson of Indiana; 17 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dixie was preceded in death by her brothers, Herman, Robert, Danny, Gary, Ivan and Clyde David Elliott; and her sister, Alma McGuire.

Visitation will be held Monday in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Geib Funeral Center at 10 am on Tuesday with Pastor Brian Flood officiating. A luncheon will be held in the funeral center’s hospitality room following the service. Burial will follow at Western Reserve National Cemetery at 1:45 PM.
