Diane Marie Lindsey

Diane Marie Lindsey, age 64, of Uhrichsville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

Born at Canton, Ohio on February 19, 1950, Diane is a daughter of Barbara (Weber) Butorac of Canton and the late Joseph Butorac.

Following her high school graduation in 1969 from Glenoak, Diane furthered her education at Morehead State University, graduating in 1974. She later obtained her master’s degree from Marygrove College.

Diane spent her 35 years as an educator with the Claymont City Schools where she taught Home Economics. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Dennison and an active volunteer with the American Red Cross. In her free time she enjoyed reading, baking and making personalized greeting cards. Above all, she enjoyed time spent with her family, grandchildren, and her dogs.

Diane will be missed by her mother, Barbara; her three daughters, Allanna Lindsey of Akron, Claire (Jarod) Knoten of Chicago,IL and Magdalen (Daniel) Tozour of Wilmington, NC; four grandchildren, Joseph Ahrens, Porter Knoten, Brielle and Daniel Desmond Tozour; and a sister, Michele (Lenny) Beachy of West Chester, PA.

Completing the family are two nephews, Jason and Alexander; a niece, Allison, and many close friends and longtime colleagues.

In addition to her father, Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Butorac.

The family will greet guests on Sunday, August 24, 2014 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia where a Christian Wake Service will begin at 4:45 PM. Father Anthony Lonzo will lead a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Church at Dennison. In keeping with Diane’s wishes, cremation will follow.
