Diane C Wallick

Diane C. Wallick, 52, of New Philadelphia, was delivered into the peace of the Lord while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 following a long nine year battle with breast cancer. She fought with courage and died with dignity.A daughter of Patricia (Bevan) Powell of Dover and the late Dale J. Powell, Diane was born May 15, 1958 at Canton, Ohio.Diane graduated from Dover High School in 1976. She was formerly employed at Genie Garage Door and most recently Giant Eagle Grocery Store.She enjoyed reading but most of all she cherished the time spent with her family.In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by her children, Joshua Wallick of Dover and Nikki (Chad Stocker) Wallick of New Philadelphia; three sisters, Jan Starkey of Rittman, Kathy (Pete) Dasco of Canton and Tarry Hurst of Rittman; her niece and nephews; Tricia and Sam Dasco both of Canton and Cole Hurst of New Philadelphia; a great niece, Emma Hurst of New Philadelphia; her three faithful companions, Peaches, Gus and Montana and many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.Diane was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Jay Powell and her grandparents, William and Dorothy Bevan and Hugh and Mary Powell.The family will receive friends on Friday, January 21, 2011 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Diane’s life will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ron Heasley officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Burial Park at New Philadelphia.
