Della May Lawver

Della M. Lawver, 79, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, May 20, 2006, at New Dawn Retirement Community in Dover.A daughter of the late Emmett and Leota Rusk Renicker, Della was born April 5, 1927, in Barnhill, O.Della was a member of Holmes United Methodist Church where she served on a number of church committees. She had also served as the church’s finance secretary and as the church Sunday school treasurer. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Midvale Club and the Mah-Jongg club. Della enjoyed doing things for her family.She is survived by five children, Jane (Donald) Metzger, of New Philadelphia, Donald (Karen) Lawver, of Gnadenhutten, Brenda (Gary) Rex, of Bolivar, Gary (Sharon) Lawver, of New Philadelphia, and Tammy (Foster) Sanders, of New Philadelphia; a sister, Eileen (Richard) Richards, of Massillon; a step brother, Robert Renicker; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.Della was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald D. Lawver, who died on February 4, 1993; brothers, Charles Rusk, Harold “Buss” Renicker and Donald “Peto” Renicker; two step sisters and two step brothers.Visitation will be held Monday, May 22, 2006, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia. Services will be conducted by Pastor Roger Warnes on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Holmes Church Cemetery in New Philadelphia.A reception will be held at the Holmes Church Fellowship Hall following the committal.Memorial contributions in memory of Della are suggested to the Holmes United Methodist Church, PO Box 267, New Philadelphia, OH 44663
