Delene A. Stemple

Delene A. Stemple, age 97, of Dover and formerly of New Philadelphia, died Monday, October 31, 2022, in Hennis Care Centre at Dover after a period of declining health.

The daughter of the late Dale S. and Florence M. (Curtis) Steffey, Delene was born on January 29, 1925 at New Philadelphia.

Delene made a career out of public service serving as the Clerk of Courts for both Municipal Court and Central Court at New Philadelphia, and additionally, she continued her service to her community as an active member of the Democratic Party and had also worked for the Tuscarawas County Board of Elections. She also had served as President of the Democratic Women of Tuscarawas County and a member of the Lambda Chapter of Alpha Pi Sigma.

Dalene leaves behind her family that includes two sons, Dale (Jenna) Stemple of Mansfield and Dick (Janie) Stemple of Dover and three grandchildren, Curtis Stemple, Kyle (Lindsay) Stemple, and Leann (James) Stephens; nine great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Delene was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O. Stemple and a grandson, Edward Stemple.

In keeping with Delene’s wishes cremation will take place through the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia and her family will host a private celebration of her life.
