Delena Margaret Ewing

Delena M. Ewing died on Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Union Hospital, following a short illness. A resident of Dover, she was 83.Delena was a daughter of the late Jerome and Myrtle Geer Davis, born in Sharon, PA on November 24, l920.Before retiring, she was employed for over 35 years at US Ceramic Tile in East Sparta.Delena was an active member of the First Church of God in New Philadelphia, and very much enjoyed her role as foster parent grandma, an activity in which she participated for the past 17 years.She is survived by four sisters, Dorothy Mumford, Margaret Shaffer, and Carol Nichols, all of Brookville, PA, and Myrtle Steele, of Strattanville, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.Delena was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 42 years, Arnet Vane Ewing; an infant daughter, Patty Ann; a sister, Mary Caldwell; and a brother, William Davis.Services to celebrate her life will be conducted by Pastor Matt Roe on Tuesday, December 30, 2003, at 3:30 pm in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home Chapel. Friends may call on the family before the service, beginning at 12:30 pm. Cremation will be under the care of the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory, and will be followed by burial at Ridgecrest Memory Garden in Dover.
