Debra Lynn (Dunn) Edwards, age 53, of Dover, died Thursday, December 18, 2008, in Hennis Care Center at Dover following a lengthy and courageous battle against an illness.Born on June 13, 1955, in Aultman Hospital at Canton a daughter of Anna (Shaner) Dale, and her husband, John, of Dover and the late Roosevelt “R.G.” Dunn.Debbie was a 1973 graduate of Sandy Valley High School. Following high school she began working for the Hennis family and for more than 29 years had earned the love and respect of her co-workers as she held numerous capacities in the activity and housekeeping departments.Traveling was one of Debbie’s many passions in life and truly enjoyed the many vacations that she took to Holden Beach, North Carolina throughout the years. As a member of the Tabor Ridge Community Church, Debbie also found fellowship throughout her week as she attended the many activities sponsored by the area churches of her close friends.She was known as a person of great strength and courage. She was never one to complain about her illness. She was a loving person who had an immeasurable amount of patience and was described as a wonderful mother.In addition to her mother, she is survived by her family that includes a daughter, Lindsay Miller of Dover; two sisters, Darla Dunn of Massillon and Denise (Danny) McKenzie of New Cumberland; a grandson, Jayden Miller of Dover; and the Miller family of Somerdale.Two step-sisters, Janet Gopp of New Philadelphia, and Judy Russell of Dover as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins complete the family.Debbie will also be missed by her special friend and companion, her pet dog, Cheyenne.The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 21, 2008, from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Geib Funeral Center at Dover and again one hour prior to the 10:30 AM services on Monday, December 22, 2008. Reverend Lester Stevens will lead the service celebrating Debbie’s life in the Dover Funeral Center with burial to follow in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Following the committal, the family would like to invite guests to join them for a time of food and fellowship in the Lake Drive Fellowship Hall at New Cumberland.To help defray medical costs, the family requests that contributions be made to the Debra L.
