Deborah L. Kagaoan

Deborah Lynn Kagaoan, age 76, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully, on Saturday evening, August 26, 2023, while in the care of Community Hospice at Park Village Southside at New Philadelphia.

Born in Huntington, West Virginia on July 12, 1947, Debbie was a daughter of the late Charles W. and Bernadine Mellot Anderson. She was a 1965 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School at Huntington and a 1969 graduate of St. Vincent School of Nursing where she obtained her Registered Nurse’s training.

During Debbie’s 30-plus career as a nurse, she was employed by Twin City Hospital at Dennison, Amberwood Manor at New Philadelphia, and retired from Beacon Pointe Health and Rehab at Uhrichsville.

She had a devout faith in the Lord which was nurtured at Sacred Heart Church in New Philadelphia. She enjoyed being a part of various Bible Study groups and spending her free time in prayer. She was an avid reader and animal lover who cherished her dogs, actively feeding and watching the birds and squirrels outside of her home, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her family which includes Kristina (Todd) Harrison of New Philadelphia, Patricia (Mike) Rooney of Illinois, Patrick Kagaoan of California, and Kristopher (Carolyn) Crosier of Green, Ohio, and seven grandchildren, Morgan and Kara Harrison, Sean Rooney, Jack and Hannah Kagaoan, and Ryan and Grayson Crosier.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dr. Edgardo Kagaoan.

A memorial mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Jeff Coning in Sacred Heart Church at New Philadelphia on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 AM. A private interment in Huntington, West Virginia is planned for a later date.
