Deborah Ann Barbee-Hutchison

Deborah Ann Barbee-Hutchison, 48, of New Philadelphia, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer.A daughter of Gladys (Brown) Barbee and the late Harold F. Barbee, Debbie was born March 23, 1961 at New Philadelphia, Ohio.Debbie graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1979 and she was employed at Denny’s Restaurant at New Philadelphia as a cook.Even though she spent much of her day cooking at work, she still enjoyed cooking for family and friends at home. Debbie enjoyed flowers and tending to her gardens as well as taking long drives through the countryside. Debbie’s biggest joy in life was her family and looking after her grandchildren. She will be remembered by them as a person who cared for others and was willing to do anything for a friend in need.She is survived by her mother, Gladys Barbee of New Philadelphia; her longtime companion, Ben Soto of New Philadelphia; her children, Justin and Haley Hutchison both of New Philadelphia, Travis Soto of Dover and Manuel and Lindsey Soto both of New Philadelphia; five grandchildren, Jace Hutchison and Taysia, Israel, Cash and Anaeya Soto; three brothers, Harold (Karen) Barbee Jr, Patrick (Lisa) Barbee and Darryl Barbee all of New Philadelphia; her best friend, Joyce Furbay of New Philadelphia and many nieces, nephews and numerous friends.Friends may call on Thursday, April 23, 2009 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. A funeral service celebrating Debbie’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Brian Flood officiating. At Debbie’s request, guests should dress in casual attire for the service.
