Deborah Ankney

Deborah Louise Ankney, 76, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024 in Aultman Hospital at Canton following a period of declining health.

A daughter of the late H. Richard and Lola Virginia (Aiken) Keney, Deborah was born March 23, 1947 at Canton, Ohio.

On August 15, 1980, she married Donald Eugene Ankney.  Together they enjoyed 19 years of marriage before his passing in April of 1999.

Deborah worked as a bookkeeper before her retirement.  She loved to read and in her spare time watch TV with her son Matthew.

She is survived by her children, Tammy (Randy) Weirich of Canal Fulton, Zack (Cassi) Ankney of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky, Matt (Megan) Ankney of Cuyahoga Falls, and Emily (partner David Scott) Ankney of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Krayvin Ankney, Merrick Ankney, Mekare Ankney, and one on the way that she referred to as Bubbles; sister, Kathleen (Grant) Casper; niece, Adri Olesky; nephew, Brandon Casper; and kittens, Mazikeen, and Mystique.

Deborah was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; and parents.

In keeping with Deborah’s wishes, a private graveside service is planned at a later date.
