Deanne Conner

Deanne Faye Conner, age 74, of New Philadelphia, died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, while in the care of Community Hospice’s Truman House at New Philadelphia.

A daughter of the late Vernon Moyer and Betty Lute Justice, Deanne was born in Union Hospital at Dover on June 20, 1949.

She was a 1967 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and worked for a handful of years alongside her mother at the former Alsco factory in Sugarcreek. For more than 30 years, Deanne worked at the Eagle Truck Stop in New Philadelphia as a waitress and made many friends during her time there.

In December of 1994, Deanne married Floyd Conner and the couple enjoyed more than 30 years together as they traveled the countryside in Floyd’s truck as he was an over-the-road driver. She enjoyed a good game of pool and even beat Floyd on their first date by two games. She also loved reading romance novels, cooking for family gatherings and was known for her Hobo Bean recipe. Above all, Deanne cherished time spent being surrounded by her large family.

In addition to her husband, Deanne will be missed by her family which includes a daughter, Michelle “Chelle” (Terry Hamilton) Henley of Port Washington; three sons, John E. (Raina) Doby, Sr. of Worthington, Tom (Kristy) Rauch of Dennison, and Jason Rauch of New Philadelphia. Completing the family are 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Deanne was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Reynolds and Wendy Hidey; two brothers, Robert Moyer and Ed Moyer, a daughter, Robin Conner; a son, Monte Conner; and a daughter-in-law, Katie Rauch.

In honoring Deanne’s wishes, the family will hold an open house celebration of life at their residence on Saturday, August 5, 2023, any time after 2:00 PM. Cremation care has been conducted by the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia.

The family requests memorial contributions in Deanne’s name be directed to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Avenue SW, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663.
