Dean Wright

Dean E. Wright, 75, a lifelong resident of New Philadelphia and master locksmith, died October 3, 2014 in the Community Hospice House.

Born in Dover on June 28, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert and Anna B. (Williams) Wright.
After graduating from New Philadelphia High School in 1957, Dean married his lifelong companion, the former Bonnie Schwartz in July of 1960.

Dean’s professional career began at Greer Steel and continued at ODOT, prior to opening Dean Wright & Sons Locksmith in 1969. Being self-employed as a master locksmith was Dean’s dream, his passion, his hobby, and his career. He also was an inventor having received a patent for his tool-less muffler clamp.
He also enjoyed working on cars, was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, and a former member of the B.P.O.E. #510.

Dean will be deeply missed by his wife, Bonnie of New Philadelphia; his sons, Douglas E. (Marijane) Wright of Uhrichsville and Brian L. (fiancé, Jennifer Winigman) Wright of Alliance; his grandsons, Benjamin D. and Joshua C. Wright; his sister, Mary Aubihl; his brothers-in-law, Bill Arbogast and Bill (Elaine) Schwartz; his sisters-in-law, Elaine Wright, Becky Schwartz, and Linda (Henry) Steinman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Arbogast and Robert and Billy Wright.

In keeping with Dean’s wishes, no public visitation or service will be held. Cremation will be cared for through Geib’s Tuscarawas Valley Crematory.
