Dean Lee Haney Sr., 72, of Uhrichsville, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 24, 2014 in Trinity Twin City Hospital at Dennison.
A son of the late Richard and Ethel (Johnson) Haney, Dean was born June 4, 1941 at Dover, Ohio.
Dean was a longtime employee of Superior Clay where he worked as a fork lift operator. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and sports. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Cleveland Indians and watching football. Most of all he enjoyed his Redman and being in the company of his family.
He is survived by his children, Novette Haney of Uhrichsville, Dean Haney Jr. of Dover and Kimberly Haney of New Philadelphia; special nieces, Darlene Apadaca of Denver, Colorado and Sue Sanders of Rush Township; his grandchildren, Brian, Mark and Shenna Haney, Shane Harrop, Alicia Harper, Brock Espenschied and Klarisa and Brooke Haney; a great grandchild, Kyler Espenschied; three sisters, Clara Haney, Thresea Gilmore and Susie Bechte; three brothers, Ron, Richard and David Haney and many nieces and nephews.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara (Barcus) Haney; a grandchild, McCade Harper and three siblings, Oris, Doris and Bob.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia. Cremation will follow calling hours and a graveside service will be held in Evergreen Burial Park at a later date.
