David W. Kopp

1951-2022

UHRICHSVILLE – David W. Kopp, 70, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

David was born March 18, 1951, in Dover, to the late Howard and Edna Lucille (Hess) Kopp. After graduating from Indian Valley North High School, he was a steelworker for forty years in Canton.

He is survived by sons David W. Kopp II and his wife Molly, of New Philadelphia; the Reverend Scott M. Kopp of Vienna; special friend Amanda Homan of New Philadelphia; brother Dennis Kopp and his wife Kathy of Rochester, NY; sister Debbie Krantz and her husband Leo of Sherrodsville; brother Douglas Kopp and his wife Angela of New Philadelphia; and numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

Preceding him in death was a brother, Donald Kopp, and a nephew, Drake Kopp.

David loved to study the American Civil War and tour its battlefields. He was also a devout fan of the Cleveland Indians and loved visiting ball fields across the country.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home in New Philadelphia with visitation prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow the service in Ridgecrest Memory Garden at Dover.

David’s family requests that all guests attending the visitation and service please wear a mask.
